Being upon a good and right path is based on following the knowledge of the Companions and seniors: scholars and people who adhere to the Sunnah, whereas taking knowledge from minors like ignorant people and heretics is a sign of destruction.
The Companions did Qunut in Witr before the Ruku
ʿAlqamah reports:
Ibn Masʿūd and [the rest of] the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ used to say the qunūt supplication before bowing in the witr prayer.
