Sayyiduna Umar on Abu Bakr and Bilal
Jābir b. ‘Abdillāh reports that ‘Umar b. Al-Khattāb – Allāh be pleased with them – used to say:
Abū Bakr is our sayyid (master/leader), and he freed our sayyid – meaning Bilāl.
