O Allāh, verily I ask you for good dreams: dreams that are true and not false, beneficial and not harmful. اللهم إني أسألك رؤيا صالحةً صادقةً غيرَ كاذبةٍ نافعةً غيرَ ضارةٍ And when she said this, [those who heard her] knew that she would not speak any more until she woke up from the night.

ʿĀʾishah
Noble wife of the Prophet, Mother of the Believers, daughter of Abu Bakr Al-Ṣiddīq. Her integrity is attested to by revelation itself. She was a prolific reporter of ḥadīth, an authoritative jurist and wise mother to the Ummah. She died in 57H, Allāh be pleased with her.

How the Salaf were (and weren’t) when hearing the Quran and Dhikr
It was said to ‘Ā`ishah – Allāh be pleased with her, “There are people who faint when they hear the Quran.” She said. “The Quran is nobler than to have people lose their minds from it. Rather, it [should be] as Allāh the Mighty and Sublime said:
Those who fear their Lord tremble with fear by it, then their skins and hearts settle to the remembrance of Allah. (Sūrah Al-Zumar: 23) Abū ‘Ubayd Al-Qāsim b. Sallām, Faḍā`il Al-Qur`ān p214. It is reported that ʿAbdullāh b. ‘Urwah b. Al-Zubayr said, “I asked my grandmother Asmā` (bint Abī Bakr) – Allāh be pleased with her, ‘How were the Companions of Allāh’s Messenger – Allāh peace and praise be upon him – when they heard the Quran?’ She replied, ‘their eyes would shed tears and they would tremble (with fear), as Allāh described them (in the Quran).’ I said, ‘There are some people here who, when they hear the Quran, fall down unconscious,’ She said, ‘I seek refuge with Allāh from the accursed Shayṭān.’” Al-Bayhaqī, Shu’ab Al-Īmān 3:417; Ibn Al-Mubārak, Al-Zuhd wa Al-Raqā`iq 3:54 with a slightly variant wording. It is also reported that Asmā` was asked, “Did any of the Salaf used to faint out of the fear of Allāh?” She replied, “No, but they used to cry.” Al-Qāsim b. Salām, op. cit. p214. It is reported that Ibn ʿUmar – Allāh be pleased with him – once passed by a man from Iraq who had dropped unconscious. He asked, “What is wrong with him?” [People] replied, “When the Quran is recited to him or he hears the remembrance of Allāh he falls unconscious out of his fear of Allāh.” Ibn ʿUmar said, “We fear Allāh and we do not drop unconscious!” Ibid p214; Al-Baghawī in his Tafsīr, Sūrah Al-Zumar: 23 with a slightly variant wording. It is reported that Anas b. Mālik was asked about people who drop unconscious when the Quran is recited to them. He said, “That is the behavior of the Khawārij.” Al-Qāsim b. Salām, op. cit. p215. Sīrīn said, having been asked about a man who drops unconscious when the Quran is recited to him, “Make an appointment between us and him, we will sit on a wall, and the Quran – from beginning to end – will be recited unto him. At the deathbed of Umm Habibah
It is reported that ‘Ā`ishah – said, “Umm Ḥabībah called for me on her deathbed and said, ‘There used to occur between us the kinds of things that happen between co-wives (al-ḍarā`ir), so may Allāh forgive me and you those things.’ I said, ‘May Allāh forgive you all those things and release you from [all liability] for that.’ She replied, ‘You have made me happy, may Allāh make you happy.’ And she sent for Umm Salamah and said the same things to her.”

Styles of Charity: Aishah and Asma
ʿAbdullāh b. Al-Zubayr said, “I have never seen two women more generous than ‘Ā`ishah and Asmā`. They had different ways of being generous. As for ‘Ā`ishah, she used to gather things, until she had a collection, then she would distribute it. As for Asmā`, she would never keep anything until the next day.”

The Knowledge of Aishah
It is reported from Abū Mūsā Al-Ash’arī – Allah be pleased with him – that he said:
We the Companions of Allah’s Messenger – Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him – never had difficulty in understanding a ḥadīth except that when we asked ‘Ā`ishah we found she had some knowledge about it. It is reported from Masrūq – Allah have mercy on him – that he said: We swear by Allah, we have seen senior Companions of Allah’s Messenger – Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him – asking ‘Ā`ishah about inheritance laws. The best you can meet Allah with
It is reported from ‘Ā`ishah – Allah be pleased with her – that she said:
You will never meet Allah with anything better for you than having few sins. Whoever wants to surpass those who exert themselves in worship, let him stop himself from committing numerous sins. Ibn Al-Jawzī, Sifah Al-Safwah Vol.1 p319.

Son, have you put it into practice?
‘Aṭā’ narrates that there used to be a young man who used to go to Mother of the Believers ‘Ā’ishah to ask her questions and she would narrate to him. One day, he came to her to ask her some questions. She said, “Son, have you put into practice what you hear from me yet?” He replied, “No mother, I have not.” So she said, “Son, why do you then seek to increase Allah’s proof against us and you?!”

‘Urwah b. Al-Zubayr – Allah have mercy on him – said:
